What is Energetic Processing?

It is not uncommon after an Energy Therapy session to experience  energetic processing. Energetic processing occurs as the energy released during your session begins to leave the body, which is a good thing. This does not noticeably occur in every person or even after every session. It’s possible that you may process the shifting energy immediately, or you may experience processing over the course of a few days. This can all depend on the nature and severity of the issue(s) your session addressed.

The amount of energy your body can process may vary from session to session, which is why you do not always release the same number of trapped emotions in every session. We work with your body and what it is able to handle during each session. To minimized processing symptoms, it is always recommended that you stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water during and after your session. And always listen to the messages your body gives you. 

Here are some of the more common symptoms of energy processing:

Feeling Tired

Tiredness or extreme fatigue is a common symptom of processing. The body is so busy rearranging energy and renewing communications with previously blocked areas that it sometimes leaves a client feeling that they have no option other than to sit down and rest. Many people report that they’ve fallen asleep even if this is something they never normally do during the day. It seems to just happen at this “full stop” intensity, although some clients can feel they are lacking in energy for a couple of days after a session.

Feeling Emotional

Echoes of the emotions released can be experienced after a session. Each emotion cleared can recur (normally only once) for a couple of hours and it can be subtle or intense. This may be uncomfortable, but it is a positive expression of things about to change.

Brain Fog

Brain fog, lack of mental clarity, lightheaded, air headed, difficulty focusing or “fuzzy” thinking are all common processing symptoms that can be improved by staying hydrated. Our cells need water, while we are processing especially.

Emotional Detoxing

As you release emotions, you may also experience symptoms of detoxing. You are eliminating emotionally, and this can prompt the physical elimination process as well. You may urinate more, your bowel habits may temporarily change, you may notice signs of detoxing through the skin. This is all normal and it too shall pass. The goal is to let it flow out of your system.

Feeling Worse Before Feeling Better

Worsening of physical symptoms that were addressed by the session can also occur. Many clients report that symptoms got worse before disappearing. “I had a rough couple of days following the last session, but it is much better now” is very common feedback.

Bearing all of the above in mind I am sure you can appreciate how important it is to understand the symptoms of processing and not be alarmed by this very natural process. It is just a sign that your body is working to reset itself and restore health and balance to your system.
